Arrow keys move boat, space pulls up the hook, Q toggles debug.
Going to be a very simple clone of Funky Fishing, a minigame in Donkey Kong Country for the Gameboy Color (the GBA version sucked ass.)
Psudo-3D clouds and sand.

History:
v 0.01
-Unreleased, basically 3 rectangles

v 0.1
-First release version
-Some mode 7 stuff
-Most things are textured
-Adds islands, rocks, basis for fish
-Reflective water

v 0.5
-Adds fish with animation
-Adds fishing line and hook
-Fixes (partially) a canvas issue with Love
-Lots more particles

v1.0
- Actual gameplay
* Timer
* You can pick up fish
- Lots of optimizations
* Mode 7 stuff now pixeleffects, doubles speed
- Even more pixel effects
- Music

v2.0
- Even more shaders
- Day/night cycle
- Rain
- Multiple resolution support (It's F10 but, for some reason you have to edit config files or you get red boundaries)
- Sound effects
- Score system

v2.5
- Even more shaders
- Normal map shader makes a cool 3D glass effect for the new time HUD
- Flashlight
* Has a time limit, you need to recharge when it's daylight.
- More sound effects
- More things moved to the GPU to speed them up
- Hook snagging far improved, takes into account hook twisting in motion
Actual music is on the way!
Isn't it awesome what you can fit safely in 3 MB?

Man, it's dead here.
Experimental build, adds some more gameplay (you can die by running out of time) and... a WATER SHADER! Only took a few.. thousand years.

Ah, I finally understood how to catch fish!
That's quite a nice mechanic you have there :D

Water shader also looks all right, though I don't like the colors overall yet. Maybe look at the way Limbo does water and coloring, that looks good... The contrast between the background-photos and the one-color-water is too large. It doesn't fit together...

Really nice job, though there seems to be a gamebreaking bug (at least in this version with the water shader). Every time I play, it crashes (as in completely closes out; no error messages) after 2 or 3 minutes. I haven't had any issues like this with any other LOVE games/LOVE games with shaders/games with shaders in general. I'm on Windows 7 (64 bit), integrated graphics, plenty of RAM, graphics drivers up to date.

Been a while since the last update, its 4AM and I've been coding since 12PM. About 4 hours of that went to this game. Anyway...
You NEED shader and canvas support to play this now!
Although it's quite worth it, and you should have Linux anyway. I get about 60 FPS in software mode on my netbook.

Pretty fun gameplay! I think the hook should fall faster once you pull it up, though. Interesting game mechanic, using physics to drag it at an angle and snag more fish.

Working well for me - everything looks much nicer now, well done.

Does the game end at any point? Or is that not yet implemented?

It should end when the timer ends like the actual game but I commented that out for debugging.
