In the gaming industry of today, game makers are generally trying to achieve the best 3D simulation that they can. Even here on a forum with the name of Love2D there are people trying to simulate 3D using a 2D game library. I, on the other hand, am trying to achieve the opposite. Instead of aiming for more dimensions, I choose to explore the exciting gaming world using as few dimensions as possible!
I bring you: 1D!* 8-)
Screenshots redundant. The game is only compatible with Löve 0.6!

*1D not acually possible, as 1x1px is the lowest window size possible. This is more of a simulated 1D environment.

Re: 1D
That depends on what you define as gameplay. As there's no width or height, we don't have a lot of things to work with. Perhaps sound could somehow be used. Don't have any clue how though.bartbes wrote:Right.. I have to ask, is there gamePLAY?

Re: 1D
Well... 1 dimension implies that the universe would have no width or height, and that instead everything would consist solely of an infinitely small point. There's not really too much too look at.TechnoCat wrote:It is almost impossible to tell what is going on with my window decoration.

0D is a point (no dimensions). 1D is a line (one dimension). 2D is a plane (2 dimensions)...nevon wrote:Well... 1 dimension implies that the universe would have no width or height, and that instead everything would consist solely of an infinitely small point. Re: 1D
:$ I just realized that you're right. But anyway, this is still a 1D simulation, as it's only a single point - but not an infinitely small one. It does have a width and height.TechnoCat wrote:0D is a point (no dimensions). 1D is a line (one dimension). 2D is a plane (2 dimensions)...nevon wrote:Well... 1 dimension implies that the universe would have no width or height, and that instead everything would consist solely of an infinitely small point.
