Open Pixel Puzzles

Open Pixel Puzzles is a free collection of pixel art jigsaw puzzles. Whether you're a fan of pixel art looking for an excuse to examine pieces up close or a jigsaw puzzle fan looking for a digital option, Open Pixel Puzzles aims to please.

I've been working on a pixel art jigsaw puzzle game for a while now, and the first demo is finally ready to see the light of day! Right now it only contains 1 puzzle, but I plan to add more over time as well as an editor to let folks make puzzles from their own art. Updates will probably come slowly, but I think I've got a good base to start from.

You can get it here: You can also find blog posts I've written about the game on my personal site. I'll try to put updates here as well though.

Feedback is appreciated, if you give the game a shot please let me know what you think :ultrahappy:

close enough. :P

would be useful being able to snap-together pieces outside the "chessboard" too. So that you can build sections and later place them as one piece.
Maybe also something to draw an selection-frame and move multiple loose pieces. (like icons on a desktop)
I am not a fan of puzzles but the music and art was nice, so I stayed until..well.. uh.

Oh yeah, 100% something I want to do at some point! I'm still thinking about how to do it in a way that feels natural though, since the pieces can get very packed when high scale & high piece count collide. Probably something that I'll revisit when I try to expand the piece management features. Good call on the multiselection too, I hadn't thought of that but it makes some sense!

Is there any way to unsnap pieces that are incorrectly joined together? Seems like a fun game so far though. :)

EDIT - Figured it out. Right-click on a piece to drag it off a set.

EDIT 2 - You can sort of do what knorke was talking about. Snap together pieces on an unused part of the game board, then drag them off to the side. They'll stay together as a group. (But it would still be nice to be able to do that off-board.)

EDIT 3 - Solved it! Very fun. Is the picture a reference/homage to Secret of Mana? Either way, it made me really nostalgic. :D
