My friends and I started working on Herman Electro, a Binding of Isaac-inspired puzzle roguelike, in our high school computer science club in 2015. We used LÖVE because we read online that it was "good for tile-based games."
In 2018, we ported the game to C++ to make it easier to move to Steam and implement multiplayer features. We added Lua scripting to the C++ version so we could use scripts from the LÖVE version.
Next week, we're releasing on Steam. The Steam link and trailer is below, as well as a blog post that talks a bit about our dev process before our off-Steam launch last year. Let me know what you think!
