Can I use things like buttons made in flash in Love2D?
If so do I need to use AS2 or AS3?

Thanks in advance.

I doubt it quite a lot. LÖVE is completely different from flash. But one never knows.

Can I at least use a animated gif?

You cannot, LOVE does not support animated image filetypes. Look into AnAL on the LOVE wiki for your animation needs.

Already tried it myself and it definitely doesn't; however, it wouldn't be hard to add that as a new feature. Could be a while though.

There are clearly very low chances for flash assets to be supported, however it is technically possible to write an SVG importer, assuming existence of XML reader script(s), or by converting XML into Lua metatable's.

Not quite easily and not quite animately overall.

I think, Spriter is more interesting.
