Hi LÖVErs, I teamed with Alex Yang (Turnacoda) to develop Phil, a top-down puzzle game, during Ludum Dare's 39th jam. The game features lighting effects using light_world and challenging level design. We intended on going towards procedural generation and turn based mechanics, but it lacked fun mechanisms that could've been handmade. The video is a summary between the intended scope we had initially went in with and the decision to switch to using the box2d wrapper library Windfield. I have some minor gripes about the library in terms of scaling, but it worked out in the end. Description: In an abandoned power station, a lone service bot blinks to life. Find power crystals around the area and use them to open doors, charge your blaster, refract your blaster shots, and illuminate this mysterious wasteland. The end features a play through, but I encourage you to try the game before viewing the video (downloads are available to the LD page and itch.io below).
