Hello all,

I'm reposting a message from Lua mailing list send by Hisham H. Muhammad, the maintainer of LuaRocks, the package manager for Lua modules. LuaRocks is participating to the Google Summer of Code 2017.
For those who are interested, there is still some time to apply. If you do not know about the GSoC, then check it out!
I would love to hear stories from you if you have already participated to a GSoC.
GSoC wrote:Spend your summer break writing code and learning about open source development while earning a stipend! Accepted students work with a mentor and become a part of the open source community. Many become lifetime open source developers!

Google Summer of Code is open to university students, age 18 and older in most countries.

Student Applications end at April 3rd, 2017, 16:00 UTC.

This is a reminder that LuaRocks is one of the participating
organizations in Google Summer of Code 2017! The application period is
open until April 3.

If you are an eligible student and wish to apply, you should pick a
project and contact a mentor [1], say hi to the developer team at our
Gitter group [2]. The next step then is to submit your application at
the GSoC website [3].

I've been following this for over a month, and I tried to apply as soon as it opened.
Unfortunately, this is for students over 18 only. :(
