So it´s time for that famous gamejam, the Ludum Dare. This time the theme is "Ancient Technology".

Anyone participating? I'm going to try and do something for the Jam, mostly because of lack of time during the weekend and having monday off anyway.

Hey, I clicked the link and I have no idea what I'm looking at (I've not heard of Ludum Dare).

So what is it?

What does it mean?

Cheers.

It's a competition where you try to make a complete game in a short amount of time. There's a lot of "Jams" like it. Each has its own way of doing stuff. Some have different time limits. Like 48 hours or 7 days. Some require a specific framework (I think some people do Pico8 Jams) while most don't require any specific tools as long as it's a game. (If you wanted to, you could probably make your game in Excel with scripting if you're so inclined.)

Haha, that's cool looking. I can't wait to see what it is. I like the VHS effects.

That looks pretty funny :D

I had a bit of a setback in that I was sick yesterday, but I'm hoping I can put in enough effort today to still be able to send something in.

This sounds pretty interesting I will keep my ears open. Are you working on something yourself?

Well, I've posted mine as well ( http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-3 ... &uid=26189 )

I managed to get most of the intended features working, although it turned out a lot more hectic than I thought it would. I initially planned for it to be a puzzle game, but it's more of an arcade game now. But still a fun one. Maybe I'll work on a slower version some other time...
