Hello everyone!

My name is JohnBobSmith or JBS for short. I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember, and modding/breaking/tweaking things probably for even longer. I'm an Arch Linux user, because I like it and it supports my habit breaking of stuff quite nicely. That, and with every breakage I learn something. Like, how I can completely break my /home directory by copy-pasting a bad command. Ooops. The lesson being I now almost never copy and paste terminal commands or code. Which makes me a better programmer (though I'm still very mediocre at programming). I love programming...

I love games too. I probably have several months worth of combined game hours spread over several years. Counter strike, call of duty, and MOBA's like Stire or Dota, and World of Tanks eat up the most hours. I also enjoy puzzlers and strategy games, RTS or turn based games, many misc. things in between. I like modding and tweaking things too. Making stuff perform or work better you know? With my modding stuff, I''ve tried to mod star wars, I didn't like Unity, I never tried Unreal, Leadwerks was still meh... So I attempted to write my own 2d game engine thingy in C and SDL 2 (C because I couldn't figure out how to make SDL not crash with C++). That project turned into an asteroids clone (or something of the sorts). I actually quite like it. It's also how I found out about the Love2D game engine. So thats why I'm here now.

I'm currently trying to finish my last year or so of high school (I'm 17), and you could say my goals for afterwards would have to be getting into some sort of computer based industry where I can put my skills to good use. It'd be a waste for me not to. My hopes for Love are to get myself a decent sized hobby project going. Currently I have my my toast player with jam bullets mostly working (its a food fight game).

I look forward to being a part of this community. :)

Welcome to the community! I think you"ll enjoy it here. And also, if you need any libraries, I'd suggest looking around the janwerder/awesome-love2d repository on GitHub :) Have fun!
