Love locked to 60fps?

I've tried measuring the FPS of games I've made in Love2D, but measuring in Fraps in Windows and GLXOSD it has always been pinned at 60fps. I know it's not a hardware thing, as I should be able to run them at hundreds of fps. There is nothing in the code to limit the frames to 16ms and I can manage to drop it to 52 with a lot of work. Is Love2D capped at 60fps? Is it because my monitor is set to 60?
