I've been looking around the forums and can't find any good tutorial for networking other than the very confusing UDP tutorial on the wiki. All the other libraries' tutorials seem to be out of date.

Any luasocket tutorial should be good for now I believe. Have tried googling for that?
Edit: the results for that is horrible.

I recommend looking at enet. I don't think there are any in depth tutorials on it, But it's pretty simple. You can look at the examples and work off those.
