The old thread kind of faded away and was more caught up in Meta-discussion, and since I seem to have overtaken this project mainly atm, so here's a new and more recent one
LÖVE for Newbies WIP, looking for Contribution!
A book about LÖVE, Games and Lua.
LÖVE is an awesome toolkit, and fairly well documented, but for beginners that isn't enough (as everyone answering in the forums knows).
We are trying to write a book that not only teaches LÖVE, but also common gamedev patterns and concepts.
The book is writtin in ASCIIDoc (asciidoctor flavor) and the source code is on github: github.com/love2D-book/love2D-book
If anyone wishes to contribute a lot, let me know and I will add you to the github org.
The more-or-less latest build is always available here: love2D-book.github.io
I have also set up a gitter chatroom where we can discuss things quickly: gitter.im/love2D-book/love2D-book
This should replace the need for the old google drive, which was a bit messy.
The writing Metrics are to be found in the README, here.
The current plan is to divide the book into three "worlds", one where an Asteroids prototype is tested, one where a fully-featured Asteroids clone is built, and a third one which contains "Recipes" that readers should know.
I think it is best if the first two chapters are written "serially" and in a rather uniform style, so I will continue to write these on my own for now (unless someone wants to help, we will need to work together rather closely for the beginning), but absolutely everyone can write a Recipe and submit it to be reviewed and fit to the rest of the book.
