Making a platformer in LOVE2D without love.physics

Post by NickRock »

Hi, I'm a new member here and I started learning this framework a couple months ago.
I want to make a platformer game but is there an other way to make it without using love.physics?

I'm asking because the wiki says that it's not lightweight and since I am a noob I better have to start with something simple.

(also excuse my bad English and I'm sorry if my question is stupid I'm new here)

Not a bad question at all. A lot of people like Kikito's Bump library.
GitHub | MLib - Math and shape intersections library | Walt - Animation library | Brady - Camera library with parallax scrolling | Vim-love-docs - Help files and syntax coloring for Vim

Bump made it dead simple to do a platformer. He even provides a sample to start from. If you want something quick, click that link.
