Hello everyone! I'm currently wondering about what kind of game I should start developing for my first official game. I have two main ideas, but I am not sure which one I should start out with for a first game. My first idea (this is the one I want to do the most,) is a parkour game in a sidescroller fashion that is similar to Mirror's Edge, but is instead set in a medieval time. My other game idea is a Zelda-like dungeon crawler with randomized maps and dungeons. This game would have more focus on story and exploration than the other game.
Game #1 in more detail
The main idea for this game is that the player will be able to parkour around different levels with a mixture of stealth and combat involved. The main focus of the game will be on the parkour mechanics and less on the story of the game. The levels will be designed in a way so that there are multiple paths through each level. There will be wall jumps, wall runs, sliding, jumping, climbing, stealth, and combat throughout the whole game.
Game #2 in more detail
The main idea for this game is to have a giant randomized world with towns and dungeons and the layout of the world being different every time. The player is meant to explore the world to try and find where everything is, to which that section will be revealed on their map. The game will be a mixture between Link to the Past's combat, The original game's exploration, and Link's Awakening's map system, with some tweaks. The game will focus on the story as well, making sure that the story will fit in with the random world.
So, which idea is better for a first official game? I have some experience with Lua and have been looking at many tutorials and demos for Love2D. Love2D looks like an engine with a lot of possibilities for both games and I would also take any other suggestions for games that I should make first with permission from the person who suggested it.
What should I start out with?

Re: What should I start out with?
Both your two ideas are way too complex, especially for a first project. I'd recommend shelving both ideas and starting with something simpler - think galaxians, arkanoid, or snake.
When I write def I mean function.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I'll try something simpler.
