C.M.Y.K - local multiplayer game

Post by SiENcE »

C.M.Y.K is a local 2-4 player party game.

Every player has a different colored light-disk and needs to push the green puck. Once pushed, the green puck paints the playfield with the color of the last touched light-disk.

The player with the most colored pixels on screen wins.

Music
The music is made with an old-school Adlib tracker. So enjoy the tunes!

Grab it from itch.io:

enjoy, feeback and reviews appreciated!

Yes..i used the same template for both games ;) and both are 2-4 multiplayer games.

But C.M.Y.K was first...therefore i created the template. For about 2 years i had this gameidea. But two anoying bugs prevented a release.
But now i fixed the bugs and submitted the game to the Amaze Festival. I hope to get the Human vs. Human Award ;).

For the menu i used josefnpat lovemenu . It's perfect fast for multiplayer games and different setup options.

I love to create local multiplayer games, but sadly you can't make money with them and no one cares :-/.

So please play it with friends and share your highscore screenshots!

Highscores are saved as screenshots under: %appdata%/LOVE/C.M.Y.K/

Too bad it's not 0.9.0-compatible... now it's too much effort for me to play it. :P

Nop...but i can share it to you. I would like to convert it to 0.9.0 because of shader support for background and light-disks.

Wait, 0.7.2? People still use that? Isn't that like 3 years old? How did you even code it? You'd need a whole lot of stone slabs and a chisel.

(For the record, all Löve versions up through 0.8.0 do not work on OS X Mavericks out of the box. 8 works with an update, but 7 will not work at all. So this is basically making it near impossible to play on most Macs.)

I coded the game 2 years ago. We played the game only on private partys :). Some friends told me to release it.

So i fixed two anoying bugs and released it. If people play and like it i will do a 0.9.0 version with shaders.

I think the idea is nice and it's fun to play. Could be enhanced with bumpers, shaders and powerups.

But therefore i need to get feedback, reviews or ... to feel it's worth to port and enhance it.

I see a hen-egg-situation here. For me, too, going back to 0.7.2 is too much of an effort.

I bet many others (including me) are happy to give feedback, if testing the game didn't have this one barrier.
