I am relatively new to this Love2d stuff and I would like to learn.
When I started the application, all I got was a window, and a brief message that said, "no game".
I am going to go out on a limb and assume that Love2d is a script language. If that is the case, then I would like your opinions (and why), on which IDE is the best to use?
Regards
J
Which IDE?
Re: Which IDE?
Love2d is not a script language. (also it's officially called löve, love2d is just the domain name of the website)

As for IDE's I don't like to use any of them. There are some out there, I believe most if not all in alpha/beta stages. I personally just use notepad++/textmate depending on what OS i'm using at the time.LÖVE is an *awesome* framework you can use to make 2D games in Lua.

I use a script editor (vim, but you'll probably prefer sublimetext) and the terminal. Don't be afraid, I use exactly 1 command in the terminal: `love .`. Good luck and welcome!
When I write def I mean function.

Only Lua-focused IDE I'm familiar with is Decoda. Started as a dev tool for Natural Selection 2 and got an open-source release later.
I'm no fun though, and just use Sublime Text and a batch file.

I personally use Zerobrane Studio, it's a great IDE and very quick and easy to set up. It also features live coding and an ok debugger.

You could try Lua Glider or LOVE Studio (disclaimer: I made LOVE Studio). As far as I know (I could be wrong about this), those are the only IDEs that have reasonable autocompletion for code that uses class systems.
