Ever since I started learning Lua and LÖVE, I feared this day would come. The day when I wouldn't be able to avoid the fact that I'm not gonna make any games. I just finished college and I gotta start working. What free time I might have left will be spent on things that I enjoy and need more than coding, things I'm better at.
But I really liked this community, so I'm still gonna hang around once in a while, and maybe offer you people some soundtracks and translations. Yes, translations, that's actually what I want to work with. And what best way to warm up my skills other than offering some free translations to the awesome lövers?
For free games, I mean. Of course I'm available for commercial games, but then I get commercial too.
So in many cases it's as simple as putting all text in a single file, like it's been done in Vapor. Some cases might be a bit more complex, so I might need to use kikito's l18n, as it can handle syntactic differences and numbers. There's a small chance we might run into gender variation issues. In that case, I might take a shot myself at implementing support for that. In any case, I'm willing to do the internationalization part too (that is, making the code apt for receiving translations).
I already searched the forums and found a couple translation requests, but I'm making an announcement, In case anyone is interested.
Offtopic: I have a few game ideas that I'm not going to use, but I don't wanna throw them away. I'll post them later to see if anyone will grab them.
Brazilian Portuguese translations
Re: Brazilian Portuguese translations
Stinks that you can't code anymore. Maybe someday...
In the mean time, I think that it's cool that you want to do that. I don't have any games right now, but I'm sure some people would love it!

Maybe! Hanging around the forums sure gives me the itch!davisdude wrote:Stinks that you can't code anymore. Maybe someday...
Meh, looks like not really. I guess 98% of all LÖVE games are stuff people think are not worth translating, for some reason. And maybe the other 2% don't hang around at the forums...davisdude wrote:In the mean time, I think that it's cool that you want to do that. But I already started working on trAInsported, and I'm pretty happy with it. Maybe my translation will come out with the next version, updated to 0.9.0 and with bugfixes. Also, I'm studying a way to drastically improve the way the wiki is translated, but I should keep my mouth shut about that, cause there's still a long way to go.
