Using .img or .xml tiled map files

Post by zooks97 »

I'm attempting to recreate a game called Maplestory, and I can extract the .img files that the game actually uses to draw its maps and .xml s that the program I use to extract files from Maplestory's .wz archives can spit out. Copies of both are below (including all three .xml formats available). I've tried using Tiled to manually recreate the maps, but the image tiles are not all the same size, or even squares, and I can't get it to work correctly. I'm wondering if there might be any way to be able to use the .xml s or the .img s to make the maps. I think I read somewhere in the change log of a site (http://www.maplesimulator.com/) that it converts the game files into .jsons, but I'm too scared to ask them about it. Thanks in advance :awesome: !

.zip with each type of mapfile for the first map in the game : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/116 ... pfiles.zip

I think this is the right image for it (although some of the layering is wrong and the background is not included):Image
