the games section in the wiki

Post by BozoDel »

The games section in the wiki seems pretty outdated. I could add a few games I know. Also, some links are very much dead. Should I delete those pages or add a "dead link" warning?

Go ahead. I'd suggest using a "dead link" warning rather than deleting pages, because there may be another link for them. If the author returns, they could update the link if they want.

You know, now that I took a better look at it... improving the games section would be much more motivating if there was a way to split things into subcategories and filter the Category:Games based on that. It could be a bit complicated, defining genres usually is, but then again, there'd be more motivation.

I know you can search using the right keywords, but that's not as pretty.

Any chance of that happening?

EDIT:
The question is, who is that section of the wiki for? If it's for potential players, we should at least be able to sort finished games from in development and abandoned ones...

But if it's for game makers... what's the point, really?

EDIT:
Isn't Vapor serving as a catalog? I think I might just leave the wiki alone then.

I think the section definitely needs work. I've just noticed Mari0 isn't in it and it's probably the most famous LÖVE game out there. There should be a way to sort the demos/curiosities/proofs of concept from the actually completed games.
