Hey this is pretty awesome actually, I find it's kinda hard to think 2d in 3 dimensions though, and overlapping pictures destroy the effect dramatically, but it's really cool!

Here's what you should also do: make shift+mouse do the Z axis rather than mouse wheel, that's much more convenient, and make a color selection wheel, and thickness selection bar. There also should be an eraser tool; having variety of brushes would also help.

This seems like a great idea... I like the idea for shift click for the Z axis. Maybe you can give users an option for this... Have you made any updates yet?
