love.quit() question

What's the point of that function? I mean when someone leaves what's the point if they leave and they can't see what happens?

For example, you accidentaly close the window, but love.quit() has saved your progress so you can continue from where you left.

Yeah. It allows the lover to handle stuff like autosaving and maybe even confirmation when the player clicks the X in the corner of the window.
