Simple arcade game?

Hey, I've started working a bit with Love, and i must say.. The engine is very simple and powerful to use.
Though, my coding skill are a little bit above sezo, and I need some help creating a simple base Arcade Game.

The main thing I need is the basic player entity, which for every action, has different image/animation.
Other stuff will be explained if someone will be interested in helping me.
