So, anyone else following/preordered Overgrowth? I saw a couple familiar names on the Secret Preorder Forum, and it occurred to me that there might be pretty decent overlap with the Love community.

For those who haven't heard of Overgrowth, it's a 3d indie game being made by the Wolfire team. It's a, ahm... ninja rabbit fighting game? Look, go to their blog and watch some of their weekly progress videos.

Yeah, I preordered about 10 months ago. I don't post on the forums much, but I am on their IRC channel (#wolfire at irc.wolfire.com) nearly all the time. The developers (the artist in particular) tend to talk there a lot, and there are often very interesting people there.

I follow it but dont have preordered.

I had forgotten about that game than I saw this post, and than I remembered I had preordered it a very long time ago.

it's not really my type of game. but i've been folllowing it anyway just because of the level of skill and detail that's going into it.
i might even get it when it comes out.

It looks really, really similar to Wolfire Studios' last game ('Lugarou', or something like that, if I recall), which had interesting gameplay which unfortunately got stale really quick. Combined with a lacklustre story, it left an overall bland impression on me. I have hope for Overgrowth, but from what I've seen so far, it's just more of the same.

Lugaru was made by david rosen by himself when he was in high school. Overgrowth is the sequel to Lugaru, but the gameplay/combat is already much better (IMO) even though the story isn't there yet.

The wolfire blog has some comics which they made to help themselves get an idea of what the story will be like.
