Networking issues

Here's my situation: I have a server, a laptop and a phone, all connected to the same router (the server by wire, the laptop and phone are wirelessly connected). The laptop can ping the server, but not the phone. The server can ping the laptop, but not the phone. The phone can ping the server, but not the laptop. How is this possible? I've googled around a bit but haven't been able to find much. One tip I found was that situations like these can appear if the devices have different subnet masks, but I can confirm that that's not the case, the all have 0xffffff00/255.255.255.0. Also, none of the devices have any firewalls activated.

The reason I even noticed this was that I was trying to set up an XBMC remote on the phone that should reach XBMC running on the laptop.

Does anybody have any ideas? I actually took a course in computer communications a few years ago but I've honestly forgotten most of it :P

EDIT: Don't know if it matters, but the server runs Ubuntu 12.04, the laptop is a Macbook Air running OS 10.7.5 and the phone is a HTC One S that runs CyanogenMod 10.0.

I don't know about phone->laptop, but your phone might simply not be responding to pings.

I thought about that. That could be the case. Doesn't help me much with my xbmc remote though :P
