The people involved don't seem to think LÖVE is all that notable.

Interesting enough, Mari0 has a Wikipedia page. I haven't read the Wikipedia conditions for articles to be deleted, though. So I don't complain.

From the talks, it seems there are lacking independent sources that verify the existence of love2d, if I understand this wikinese correct.
I am grabbing some examples, in case anyone wants to pick the task up again:
http://stackoverflow.com/search?q=love2d
http://gamedev.stackexchange.com/search?q=love2d
http://www.sparkrift.com/2012/1/love2d- ... na-vs-sfml
http://freegamer.blogspot.com/2010/12/q ... ove2d.html
http://gamedev.tutsplus.com/articles/ho ... ve-love2d/
http://notebook.kulchenko.com/zerobrane ... -debugging
http://www.sublimetext.com/forum/viewto ... f=5&t=3682
http://www.gamingonlinux.com/crowdfundi ... me_Engines
No idea about the requirements for links.. if its not dependant by the reviewer's mood anyway.

Last time they pretty much told us they wanted traditional media. Good luck getting us in the paper :P.
That said, didn't some famous people ever use love in a gamejam? (Can I be more vague? Don't challenge me.)

It's not for verifying the existence. It's for verifying LÖVE as being notable enough to be worth including in wikipedia. LÖVE is quite a small framework with a pretty limited impact on gaming, so it's not a surprise at all that it wouldn't be accepted as notable enough... I don't see any big name sites like kotaku etc. praising LÖVE or anything, and that's the sort of thing that is the absolute minimum sort of site that they accept as an acceptable source.

Then it is maybe me not knowing the big name sites. I don't read that much english magazines in web.
My attempt was to google

Code: Select all

love2d -love2d.org somename
Maybe we can get better ones then!

(and dont fall for the "why some men love 2d girls more than 3d girls" blogpost, even if it is not uninteresting  )
