Das Tal - combat-prototype (micro mini mmö :) )

For our current project "Das Tal" (small scale mmo) we worked on a small gameplay prototype. The prototype is an arena like pvp game for up to 10 players. If there are more players everything starts to lag horribl. But network performance is not the focus of the prototype so it is perfectly ok.

Teams fight for a limited amount of time in a small map. The overall goal is to do the most damage to the barrier (at the left of the map). There are also 4 points one can control to gain a team wide xp boost. The fighting is quite twitchy with guildwards like skills (but simpler).

Looks really cool, like something I've wanted to do for a while! I'm working on my own little tiny MMO project right now that involves spaceships. :D

This prototype looks very impressive. Especially the textures, they look very professional and the overall graphical aspects of the game are great. All I would change would be the GUI. Do you know why the game digs its own grave when over ten players join? Are you using UDP or TCP or both?

The graphics in this prototype as just "collected" from opengameart and alike.
