Is Love2D Suitable platform..

Post by obiwan »

Hi boys and girls!
I`m currently looking around to find a development platform for a game idea of mine.
I have played around with som some code examples and it really looks good.
My game idea will be a simple slot/jackpot game.

I need it to be able to communicate with a server (either files or sql storing values available for all gamers) to get results to present.
for example an progressive jackpot that more than one player can achieve.

The question is can I handle it utilize Love2d as a platform to develop such a game??
have looked into Corona and Moai (also XNA but MS has decided not to support it anymore), but so far i have found love2d most favorable :)

tnx!!!

Best regards

You have network access through luasocket, which is included in LÖVE. So you can use that to access your server.

:) nice.
Are there any freelancers or compaines developing Game solutions for Love2D.
Feel free to contact me if so.

If i`m to build such a solution I might need to team up with somebody.
Have tried to google for it but can`t really seem to find anyone.

tnx!!!

what do you mean by "Game solutions"?
Lua is not an acronym.

I have a game design company (but it's just me ;)) so if you want to hire someone, feel free to drop me an email at info@cogandbrush.nl and tell me a little about what you're looking for.

Hi people, I have decided to go for Unity3d instead of Loved2d.

Yes, I meant video games, like lottery winning game.

Good luck with your game. You'll have some stiff competition.
