Powerful Tutorials (in anything!?)

I found this a week or so ago and since then I've been completely doing my own thing and inventing little tools as I go along. I have been so engrossed in making my game (or as of today games) that I haven't bothered looking up other tutorials, but instead occasionally using the wiki for reminders.
Do you know any tutorials that explain important concepts as powerfully as this? In anything I mean, because this has seriously helped me beyond measure.
Also, is it wrong or inefficient of me to carry on the way I am?
Without help I've been able to "invent" blocking from certain areas, including a cumulative time variable for things like acceleration, very basic (but sufficient) animations for attacking, functioning stamina and health bars for my character and other things.
I have never felt as free learning something as I have learning Love2d with Lua after stumbling upon that tutorial.
