Hello everyone,

the german hobby game development meeting Devmania 2010 is over and as every year we developed a small love2d game during the OverNight Contest (14am-9am).

4 people and only 2hours of sleep.

Here is our result:

"28 Brains Later"

twentyeightbrains_Linux_MacOSX.zip

twentyeightbrains_windows.zip

Currently i'm working on a Dingoo handheld version using nLove.

Read the readme ;-) ... or you have to find out how this game works.

cheers
SiENcE

It is the third degree of upper-Zombie-God
Zombie Horde has its lackeys to let the people
and turn them into zombies - in the moonlight.
That is why zombies are in fact at all.

Objective:

All the people turn into zombies.

Control:

Left mouse button: attract zombies (green)
Right mouse button: Zombies scare (red)

w-a-s-d or the arrow keys: Map scrolling
The game does make a bit more sense after reading the readme. I was completely lost when I first tried it.

Fun gameplay, great sound effects(!) and annoying movement controls.
Overall pretty decent for 19 hours. It could be worth polishing it up and releasing another version

Thanks

:-) We recorded the sound effects at 2 o'clock in the Night with my Caanoo outside the building on the parking lot.

Some people might have thought that we are real Zombies.

I liked it. My zombies got smashed by those puny humans, mostly because:
  • I didn't realize that there was a wall on the big street that goes up near the center of the map
  • Humans can shoot through walls
Either marking walls a bit strongly or disabling shooting through walls would be enough.

Appart from that, great game, specially for the short timespan!

I had the same feeling than kikito. Game is fun but there is trouble navegating in map.The "real" map make it's somewhat confuse because we can't really feel well where the obstacles are. Probable change to a map with color could help. Nice job for the little time.
