If you have been hanging out in the Löve club IRC channel in the last few days, you will know that I've been bored out of my skull. Whenever that happens, I tend to make crappy Löve games. This weekend was no exception.
I somewhat proudly present to you the game formerly known as Nevon's Game of Boobs.
An earlier version had a bug that turned gliders into boobs.
It's not that fun to play around with, but I've included some known patterns that could be fun to look at for a minute or so. To view them, press buttons 1-9. To clear the board, press C. To change the state of cells, pause by right clicking and then left click the cell you want to change. You can also move the camera around by using WASD.
I have included two versions for you. One with some soft background music and one without any sounds at all:
evolution.love
Evölution, with music. v0.2
(2.7 MiB)

Music makes a lot of difference in download size.
Neat little toy, but using WASD fucks up toggling cells.

Sure does. That's why I added a version without any music.

Oh, you're right. It does. Strange how I never noticed that.

The boobs were quite glorious, and honestly, you could make some awesome patterns when that bug was around. Maybe I'll add a legacy mode.

Alright. My email address is tommy[DOT]brunn[AT]gmail[DOT]com. Feel free to also include my other game,
Oh Snap, Aliens! in there as well.
EDIT: New version is up. I fixed the issue with cell life toggling going haywire when panning the camera around. It should work properly now.

Back in my day, we called that a feature.

1. You probably made
some enemies.
2. You swapped a and d, w and s. Seriously, I'm feeling physically sick O_o
3. Very nice colors
4. Needs a drawing mode (hold down mouse to draw)
5. Needs speed controls
9. If I RMB-press-hold in the game window, then move the cursor outside the window and press the LMB, then it crashes.
Code: Select all
boot [string "main.lua"]:210: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value) stack traceback:
[string "boot.lua"]:833: in function 'error_printer'
[string "boot.lua"]:768: in function <[string "boot.lua"]:766>
[string "main.lua"]:210: in function 'mousepressed'
[string "boot.lua"]:162: in function '?'
[string "boot.lua"]:322: in function <[string "boot.lua"]:295>
[C]: in function 'xpcall'
[string "boot.lua"]:840: in main chunk
0. You might or might not like or might not or might yes love
this. Not maybe.
3. Excellent colors!

You do? I tried swapping them, and that made
me physically ill.

Yeah, I know. But this was just a quick little thing to pass the time. I have no intention of continuing to update it.
