[Failed Lovefest III entry]RocketMan

Post by Tesselode »

The idea of this game was that you're in an open-world kind of scenario, and you're trying to find a rocket placed randomly in the world as fast as you can. There would also be oracles you could talk to that would tell you what direction the rocket is in and offer to teleport you in a certain direction (with a high chance of a teleport malfunction), leading to a sort of risk-reward thing.

Unfortunately, the platforming was very boring because all I had were spikes and enemies, and there was no way I could fill a decent number of rooms with interesting stuff with just those elements. My plan now is to retry the idea, but start out making a bunch of cool platformer elements first. I won't try to enter it into Lovefest, since I don't have enough time anymore.

I'm only posting this so I don't just not enter anything with no information about why.

PS: Feel free to steal ideas for your own entry.

Great game! Nice white text on cornflower blue background saying about how I don't support Canvases with beautiful vocabulary and brilliant use of punctuation.

Well I can't play the damn game!

Get a better computer. Not all games need to run on a system with a graphics card not designed to run games. :P

I second this. Canvases make some things quite a bit more efficient, and it's kind of silly to give it up for the people with old bad computers.

Everyone, quit complaining!

If you have a crappy computer, you can't run all games. Get over it.

On the other hand, don't tell people to get a better computer. It's arrogant. Not everyone can afford an IncrediPC Deluxe.

Just make some games and play the ones the others make that work for you.

This was the inspirational message of the day, back to the studio.
