Thank you for the add vrld, the method and the official Win installer was already in "installing from Windows" section. I really don't know what more to suggest. I think it's almost really impossible he don't find a way to install Ubuntu

This is another extremely simple option for USB booting. Don't even have to go to any websites for downloading the .ISO (I think that's what they are called) on the more popular Linux distributions. Just pick the one you want, click download, then format the USB drive. Crocodile dundee.

My only panel is at the top, hidden until I move my mouse there.

I use Compiz task switcher thingies and Gnome Do to replace a taskbar and menu.
