Excuse me, but I, among others, take offense to "mac crap".
Also, we're not the ones with non-standard resolutions. 1280x800 is a
standard computer display 16:10 resolution. 1280x720 is a standard 16:9
HDTV resolution. Not a computer display. There's no reason at all to get defensive and start offending people who happen to use an OS you don't just because you don't understand it.
Please be more considerate of other people in the future. Thank you.
For research and reference purposes:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution (LÖVE should really support more of these IMHO. Currently it only supports a handful of 4:3 and 16:10 resolutions, I use 800x500 for my game with an option to switch to 640x480 for 4:3 displays. But I'd be interested to be able to set it to 1280x800 and see how fast it would run.)

1280x800 is a
standard computer display 16:10 resolution.
More importantly, my laptop has 1280x800
but that is still slightly problematic, since I can never see the whole Militia Defense window, so 1280x760 or so would fit better for me.

Not sure, but unless you have a lot of computation per square pixel, I don't think it will matter that much.

I, for one, don't. However, I do take offense to "ball suckage"

It is a standard widescreen notebook resolution, not everyone has got the luxury of 1680x1050 for 16:10 screens (guess what I have
), and, indeed 1280x720 == 720 p/i (I don't know if it's progressive or interlaced, depends on the screen I guess)
And:

what?! I thought it supported everything, in fact I'm pretty sure I have had games at custom resolutions.

All the fighting about resolutions heh
There really isn't something like "this resolution doesn't exist".. just because some companies take something as a standard doesn't mean there can be others.
(Like Samsung, they've got a 23" 2048x1152 px screen)
And "luxury" and "1680x1050"? 1920x1200 ftw

I wasn't fond of using the built-in resolution detection since it breaks under multiple displays on linux and it didn't pick up my widescreen mode on a single display (That appears to be an SDL issue). In config.lua I just initialize a list of 'common' resolutions hoping those would work for everyone. It's trivial to edit that file and even easier to go to ~/.love/md.love/settings.cfg, or equivalent, and plug in whatever you like.

1680x1050? 1920x1050? Back in the old days we were impressed by 320x240!

I can't read what you're writing. I'm reading this on a 16x8 pixel display. (My watch isn't as advanced as your psp.)
Note: this is 100% true, just like my previous post.
