I tried to follow Handmade Hero on youtube, where this quy creates his own engine in C with absolutely no use of libraries. However as I recognized, the hard thing on programming is not to understand the syntax but the huge amount of functions you will have to use.
Just creating a single plain window seems extremely hard to me. If not impossible. Though I really would like to understand this hardcoded stuff.
I'm really not a programmer but love2d seems so easy compared to Objective-C with SpriteKit or just C/C++. GameMaker was easy, though love2d can be much more complex is so much more fun since it still feels very easy and direct. I hope Objective-C/C/C++ will seem easy to me too some day. But I think I still have to learn a lot with Lua and Love2d.
