Imma stop you right there. That isn't true anymore. <rambles on about distros, bad experiences with installing Windows, and the fact that many Windows users can't really install or use Windows either, but they're just sticking with that because they're afraid they break something otherwise>

I've confirmed that it's definitely not a virus that embedded itself. I scanned only the .exe file after downloading a totally new installer from the webpage (I also deleted the old .exes) and it came up as positive once more.

Not that it needs any more confirmation, but yeah. Unless LOVE's official copy has got viruses in it, which it doesn't, it's a false-positive.

Something which is very hard to use

It's easy to use, once you learn how to use it. That's the hard part.
I hate it when my `/etc/init.d/X11/xorg.conf` blows up, but I can still fix it.

Ummm... I'm not sure where you're going with this... I was just making an observation. I know it was almost the equivalent of a "This." on reddit, but I was also tipping my hat off to StormsAndOceans. Linux is hard to learn.

Well, the NSIS installer I'm pretty sure does do registry editing. But I'm more than willing to guess after people download love, a virus from somewhere else injects itself into the exe.

It said that LOVE.exe was listed as an effect of the virus. Not saying that it did the other stuff. One weird false positive...
