I just used VIM. It's horrible. In comparison. It's like a hybrid terminal app with an OS X GUI. It's not for me.

I neither can stand vim. I ended up using gedit + a couple plugins. It looks like this:

Yep, so do I. Even tho I can understand the reasoning of Vi/VIM lövers, you can certainly type faster once you get to know the interface, the problem is that it feels like playing Dwarf Fortress (I do like Dwarf Fortress, but Vi is way harder to grasp)

Yeah, I use notepad++ when I am on Windows.

Uhmm, the font is Consolas. It is the #2 on that list on the link you've given me. But apparently, I have turned off the clearType rendering. Hahaha. Thanks for the comments and links, now my codes are less hideous.
- Consolas: no smoothing; standard; clearType
