I think the irony here is that those who use perfect library solutions for every task never release any games.
They just write code to perfectly handle input and scaling on theoretical non existing games all day.

What irony?
What do make you think so?
Do you think that i use love, just sits there and masturbating on libraries all days or what?
If that what you do, it's your problem.
I happy with developing on godot, thank you very much, at same time as i can make small stuff, using love and sometimes post it and make someone else life easier.
And, just asking:
Why most of your replies here so mean and rude?
Do something bad happens in your life so being rude on forums makes you feel good?
Maybe you need help?

Then stop being rude on forums to someone and there will be no reasons for me to continue.
Anyway, happy new year and good luck in your "Oh and since i actually do that right now" things.
Hope your games will be popular and beloved by your players.

My options were limited but the game should be playable on all browsers now.
Couldn't use pcall here and it seems to be impossible to use 'varying' on firefox with love.js. I could've sacrificed the graphics across every browser but I didn't want to do that.
Pressing 'r' on the title screen will load the game up with a more basic shader with better compatibility.
Otherwise the game will detect if it crashed while attempting to load it and will know to use it automatically after you refresh.

Sweet, thanks for letting me know
In the original the kid's flashlights/vision cones would be casted onto the environment, which creates a cool illusion since it looks like light is being casted onto the walls.
With the compatibility version the light is drawn on top of the floor in 2D

I was worried when you missed Xmas. Glad to know it was just because it took more effort than expected. I can't play in a browser though so I had to wait for the downloadable version.
Very nice job, the visuals are great. I'm still a big fan of your creations!

Thanks guys, it means a lot.
It's been tough as a stressed out college student to continue making these yearly games but I am glad people enjoy them (and remember them).
Cut corners aside, I try to at least do one thing interesting in each one. This was my first time doing proper vision cones, a rougelike next year would be an interesting challenge for sure
