That is a reasonable request. Also, there is no reason V8 should lock the build down to Windows only.

All I ask is whatever road you guys take LÖVE down, please do not leave us Mac and Linux users behind by going Windows only.
i dont think that'd be the case with love. im sure rude and the others love you guys too much hehe. plus, we're at 0.5.0 and we've still got compatibility. it would have been a waste of effort if we decide to ditch it now .

added/offtopic: o3d looks amazing. :ultraglee: very good job that they've done.

for the record.. the v8/javascript version of love is an unofficial port.

if you're looking for love2d/v8/macos, don't blame the dev't team. it's my fault - i didn't release any since i don't have a macos.

v8 though can run on macos so i don't see a reason for it not to be ported there.

hopefully, the love2d development team would pick love2d/v8 or abstract at least out the lua parts.

javascript clarification
love2d with javascript doesn't mean it's aimed at browsers.
it simply means, we'd be using javascript instead of lua scripting.

I just want to know, will it keep the same speed as Lua? Will the JavaScript code be interpreted at the same speed Lua is read?

(And if so, then why the hell are browsers so slow? Maybe the WebKit, Mozilla and Opera teams should hire these people to do their JavaScript running code.)

Or they should replace javascript by Lua. ;)

Doesn't work that way. ^^

I'm saying if the Löve engine can execute JavaScript code with the same speed it executes Lua, then why the heck is FireFox and Opera and even Safari so slow with JavaScript? Believe me, I have experience with JavaScript gaming. My game was previously working in JavaScript, and was fast, but compared to what my game is doing in Lua, it was a glacier.
