the background works fine, even when scaled down. no problems there. i was aiming for something fresh and sleek looking, hence the reflection. i still reckon it looks heaps better with it. it looks incomplete now - its a glossy orb but its not reflecting anything

The gray stripes in the background removes the feeling of depth.
Notice that you've made a floor with a shadow on it, and a wall in the background.
The stripes look like the follow the wall, but then they float above the ground.
The problem with that, is that it doesn't look like the stripes are floating, instead they make the whole image look flat.

Instead of removing the stripes though, I would probably remove the wall and floor, or remove the bottom half of the stripes (although I have a feeling that might look weird).

I like it.

One thing though. What does the green ring symbolise? It just looks like it is put there, just because. Everything else kinda fits in.

love home page has a blue green and pink ring. i couldnt use a blue ring because the guy was already blue, and the pink was originally a ring.

going to go ahead and give this a bump. never had any official word on whether or not this'll be used and this topic sort of died. we're still using the old one.. i personally do not like it.

Ooh, never seen this before! Not half bad! Could use some improvement, plus I am rather fond of the old, anime-ish icons

is the current icon thing ever going to change? i would like to hear other peoples opinions on the current logo too. i seem to be the only one who dislikes the current one..? i don't mind if mine isn't used...but i would like to see a change in the current one.

It will probably change eventually, but I have no concrete plans of doing so in the near future.
