Thanks, I don't know how often I should update this post. The last three levels are just place holders to test tilesets. I'm currently working on new enemies and bosses. I know the difficulty ramp is really slow, but I'm designing it to the tastes of a 4 year old so... literally a baby game

Thanks for the confidence boost... I died on level 2 and I'm not 4 years old...
Really liked the game man! Thanks a lot for sharing it.

Nice little game.
Maybe make the character walk/run just a tad bit faster, to make it match the speed of jumps better.

Update 2017-05-27
- complete GUI overhaul
- enemy spawners
- level work
- sub weapon system
- dragonflies (candles from Castlevania)
- enemies have a chance of dropping health or sub weapon energy
Working on
- 2 or 4 new enemy types
- 3 more sub weapons
- 4 boss fights
- 4 total "Acts" each containing 4 or 5 short "stages" and a boss fight.
(I have 1 act and its 5 stages "done.")
- character select; just palette swaps and a “prince”, the kid likes picking from the different colored princesses, I might connect the palette swaps to the different sub weapons like mega man.
- general balancing
item drops rates
enemy damage and placement
etc.

Nice game!
For chiptune music, I personally prefer
famitracker. It's designed to emulate the classic NES sounds. It's also simpler than most trackers out there.

Personally, i find sampler-based trackers simpler, but to each their own.

Its all but a full game now.
- 16 levels over 4 acts
- A Boss Fight
- Music by Eric Skiff
http://ericskiff.com/music/
Working on
- Re arrange the music
- Refined Sprite work, give each enemy a more distinct look.
- character select; just palette swaps and a “prince”, the kid likes picking from the different colored princesses, I might connect the palette swaps to the different sub weapons like mega man.
- general balancing
item drops rates
enemy damage and placement
etc.
I'd love to hear about any bugs or balancing issues you folks may find.
