Also, just to chime in, i personally hate windows' "preferred folders the sheep users should use" with a passion, then again, the same thing would apply if i were to switch to linux. I like having fifteen drive letters and apps i know where i unpacked / installed without it barfing into any places i don't know about. Everything restricting my options is something working against me.

I'm not saying anything should be changed in löve of course, but my point is that, as Inny already stated, The most effort löve users who develop with it can make is that they don't exploit such behaviour, or if they do something unorthodox, then they should comment it somewhere, like a faq or readme aimed at their potential players; and the most effort users should make is to pay attention what they do.
