I think 0.10.0 was slated to have LuaSec or some alternative included, but something must have came up. The issue on bitbucket was versioned for 0.11.0 so maybe it will be included in love then.

It would have been nice to have for 0.10, but at some point you have to stop adding new features before a release, or it will never be release-ready. :)

Any update on this? Seems pretty essential to have https if you want to publish games for mobile
