If you have a working demo, presenting it at a local gaming meetup is also a good way to get attention. I regularly attend the
NYC Games Forum and have discovered some pretty sweet indie games from it that I don't think I would have heard about otherwise, like
Killer Queen,
Liege,
Organic Panic, and
ChipChain.
