Could you upload a .love of your game? There are a number of things that might be wrong, but we can help you a lot faster if we know what you're actually doing.

You need to replace io.lines by love.filesystem.lines to properly load table.txt. Also, you have no function loadText. There are so many problems I've given up. Sorry, but this is too big of a mess to make sense of for me.
