Source release! Still full copyright though.
I added a check for compatibility and added an extended interface.
I will release it under a liberal license when I have figured something out for cross-platformness (or at least fail gracefully)

Well, here's an open-source one, and when there's no lanes support it will define some stubs to make it fail gracefully. It only has one place in the code where it calls error() and that's in the debug function checkError(), so, this should be an improvement.

Tooo laaate...

Lanes is a goner, so this isn't going to be of much use for new builds.
