LÖVE

That's not LOVE's fault, you know?

I'm a fan of the release model where we get a couple of minor bugfixes every once in a while, i.e. 0.8.1, 0.8.2, and so on, while a development branch is working on a big feature for 0.9.0.

But we seriously did just get 0.8.0, I wouldn't expect a new version so soon after, especially for a development platform. LÖVE is the type of software where stability is also a feature, and you can lose that feature by making too many rapid changes.

I also think that LÖVE 0.8.0 is complete and stable to the point where you can use it for a perfectly sellable game. What it needs is more and better ports to the platforms of the future, and making the already existing ones (i.e. love-native-android) an official part of LÖVE.

IMAGE MODIFICATION!! something such as we can fit an image in any shape easily and not just scaling or rotating but distorting it it would be great for 3D develompment.

That was implemented in 0.8.0 in the form of PixelEffects.

But how would one do that? i.e. distort an image with a 3D perspective. And how fast would it even run? I'd be extremely interested in a library/code for taking an image/quad/canvas/image data and telling it to distort to a weird non-orthogonal perspective.

It may be posible with a 3D grid and see what would be shown and then make an image from ImageData and just diplayed... dont know just coming to my head
