love.snake

Post by snake »

Simple Snake Game with some (I think) cool Features.

Used:
room.love from here http://love2d.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f ... t=10#p8028
(thanks Zorbatron)
sfxr for some sounds
Löve2d 0.5

I am still a Newbie at programming, so it would be nice to get some Feedback about my programming Style and other things.
If you find a Bug it is probably a Feature. :P

License:
No License, just do what you want with it.
Maybe some Parts are useful for other Projects.
Do not ask, use it!
You do not have to give me credits or other bullshit.

Sorry I am not good at writing in English.
I hope you understand me. :emo:
But do not worry, I am good at understanding Englisch.

Hey that's good for a start :)
Could use some more effects added, better gfx.. whatever.. but the game works so nothing's wrong :D

(One thing tho.. if you try to go the opposite direction of the one you're already at it makes you crash into yourself, the original snake just ignored those inputs :V)

I've noticed that if you press two buttons too quickly it could end up killing you. The input isn't always responsive. Other than that it's a solid game and looks pretty damn good (I play in classic mode ^^)
Now posting IN STEREO (where available)

Thats true, I am not a great Artist.
I am more interested in the coding part than in the graphics.
But my games supports different "Drawmodes", so if someone is interested he can easily make new Modes with awesome graphics. :P

Yeah I know, but I think it makes the game harder and I like it for some weird reasons.
Maybe I will fix it in snake 1.1, but I do not know yet.

Unfortunately you have to specify a license or it's illegal for us to use it, I recommend the LPC. (Find it on the wiki) :) nice game though.

legal, illegal, I do not care.
I do not see why you should care about.
The room.love from Zorbatron I used had no license too, so the whole Project was "illegal" from the beginning. :joker:

I like the Idea of LPC but I want people to have fun with my game and having to read some complicated License.
But if I ever make some bigger Project the LPC might be an Option.

Well, at least specify it as Open Domain, but if you don't specify anything that means you retain full copyright. And we play by the law, mister :P

You mean Public Domain?
That is not possible for me, because of bullshit copyright law.

Thanks. :)

Made a new Love with fixed Input and licensed under WTFPL.
At least this license is easy to understand.

Sorry, horrible typo, I meant Public Domain.. and: not possible?
And he is right, it's a nice game..

Oh, and btw, the LPCL means nothing more than the following:
If you give it another name, do whatever you want. If you give the same name, the community is allowed to deny it. (forcing you to rename)
