Hey guys!
I'm quite new to LOVE / Lua but not that new to programming... and totally enthusiastic about games.
So I started a little mini game project to test out LOVE - actually because I was looking for a multiplatform engine which can be used for both free and commercial projects.
It will be a very simple game called "sukippu" - google translator says that this is the japanese writing for "rope skipping", if it's true... who knows
The name also says what it'll be about in the end - you have to skip ropes with an ever-increasing speed.
So, here's the github project: https://github.com/humansarepuppies/sukippu
Any comments, suggestions for improvements are very welcome
have fun and thanks for that lovely engine!

Re: sukippu
You're off to a very good start. One request that's pretty standard here is that you make a .love file and upload it with your post, so the time investment of people downloading and trying out your code is so low that everyone will do it. Also, enjoy working with Love and Lua, learn as much as you can, read everything you can get your hands on, search the forum because a lot of things have been talked about and a lot of questions have been answered, ask lots of your own questions. Welcome to the community!

Re: sukippu
Hi again!
I've added my game project to the wiki, just in case you're interested in following the progress https://www.love2d.org/wiki/Sukippu
I did a complete artwork and code overhaul, attached is the current wip version.
As always, I'd be happy about feedback of you Love2D guys and girls
P.S.: there's no menu-driven settings editor yet, but the game generates a config file after the first start at ~/.local/share/love/sukippu/game.conf
You can manually edit screen resolution, fullscreen and volume there.

Re: sukippu
I'm confused.. any button I press closes the game in this new version.
And the first version only shows the credits?
It looks and sounds nice, but I can't actually do anything yet...?

Re: sukippu
Sorry, it's not playable yet, it's just the artwork and some animation I forgot to mention...
next steps would be:
1) an introduction story (character animations, interactions, storyline etc.)
2) game menu (play / settings / quit, etc.)
3) the actual game
so before step 1 isn't finished don't expect the keyboard to do anything else than love.push("quit")
P.S.: I have quite a lot of free time next month so I hope to reach step 3 at end of March or so.
