First Alpha version RELEASED ! \o/

Still ugly... but mostly playable !
You can set up game at different difficulties and sizes, you can win or lose a game, there is a timer...

The 1st post shows some screens and contains the .love file

Comments and suggestions always appreciated ^^

The next step will be to enhance the grid and the HUD graphics, then compose musics and find some shorts sounds.
And add high scores features somehow.

enjoy !

Update :

Not released yet but i've improved the interface and add a high score system. I still got few more tweaks to implement, and alpha 0.2 will be released ^^
All of this has been pushed on the git hub.
Screens will come with the next releasing ! :)

Done ! Alpha 0.2 released, details in the first post. :)

so now, what's next ?
I had an idea for an alternative mode, it should be simple enough to implement. This will constitute the next alpha 0.3.
I will then concentrate on the audio and sounds, it will be my first attempt to make some music... so don't be too hard on me :P

Released Alpha 0.3 with the new mode inside ^^
Check the first post !

Still no music or sounds in the file, but a music is being composed !

I suppose the next release will be the V 1.0 and will be the final one (except for correcting releases).
I also will add helps to explains the rules and achieve the little features not active yet (like showing the solution after you die or win)

this will be fixed... it's in my TODO list !
but it's simpler said than done :death:
i "just" have to change to moment where the grid is filled (after the 1st click so...)

EDIT :
Done ! you can't die anymore at 1st click since V 0.3.1
(but i can't guaranty that you won't die at the second click :P )
enjoy ^^

Nice game!
There's too much guessing for my taste. Especially towards the beginning - I feel like there's more guessing than in the square-based one, but it might just be me.

the menu is cool! I like the font :D. And the way options are changed is cool as well!

I don't get Alchemist mode though... what's different?

Edit: ah, never mind: You need to click on the green plants, right?

@ Germanunkol
Thanks for the review !

In fact, you are in the truth ! there are 9 neighbors in the square version versus only 6 in the hexagonal one, it's a loss of 33% of useful informations.
But, i tweaked the difficulty so that in normal difficulty you won't have to guess often, the generation is still totally random tough.
And the naming of the difficulties was not mistaken, 'tricky' is really hard and 'impossible' is... well, almost not doable :P

Yep you have to find all 'good' plants leaving behind the 'bad' ones. Help windows explaining what's what will be included soon !
Unless the classic mode, you win when you have found all the good plants, and not revealed every untrapped tile.

Right now i am working on an achievement management system and a way to change resolutions (800x600 is not that ideal ^^) but i have to scale all the backgrounds (even the dynamic ones >.<)

Really fun game! I'm a big fan of minesweeper (though I haven't played it ages :D ), so this variant was really fun for me. I only tried Classic mode, but I'll definitely check out the rest later.

I do agree that there are times, particularly with "4" hexes, where you're forced to guess, and that I don't particularly like that. While my guesses in those cases ended up being right (I guess I'm lucky, haha), I think it'd be frustrating to play a long game only to guess wrong on one with two possible answers.

Still though, I really enjoyed it. Great work!
