I capped styled in the title because I'm not making a fan game or clone. I am however trying to slopes and what not, and have got slope collision working I just decided to post a video of my progress -- note that the little error of sticking all the way to the ground has actually been fixed, but since it's such a small change I figured I didn't need a new video for it since it still looks like this.
No real graphics to speak of right now, just the collision tiles, using tiled and ATL.

I think it's too fast, but it's nice besides that

Looks pretty fluid!
My game called Hat Cat and the Obvious Crimes Against the Fundamental Laws of Physics is out now!
Re: Start of a Sonic-the-Hedgehog STYLED game
Fluid but fast, good work. Is this custom physics?
Lua is not an acronym.
Re: Start of a Sonic-the-Hedgehog STYLED game
Yep custom. Although now I've gotten new code, that fixes some problems I had before...
A little update:
If you notice the tiles are now 16x16 instead of 8x8 -- less tiles to process, but it works because I'm using heightmaps instead of what I was using in the original video, so now i can virtually do any angle.
